Principal & Co-Head Seed Practice, New Enterprise Associates
Sheel Tyle is a Principal & Co-Head of the Seed Practice at New Enterprise Associates, the world's largest venture capital firm with portfolio companies including Uber, Coursera, Robinhood, Buzzfeed, and Clovis Oncology. Prior to NEA, Sheel was at Bessemer Venture Partners where he co-led BVP's 2011 investment in Snapdeal, now India's largest e-commerce marketplace and currently valued at $5 billion. He is on the Board of Directors for Andela (a for-profit talent accelerator in Nigeria & Kenya), LearnUp (a vocational training company solving the 'skills gap'), Mirror (a blockchain company), and other startups globally. He was previously on the business development team of Skybox Imaging, which was acquired by Google in 2014 for $500 million.
Sheel is the founder of S2 Capital, a social impact micro-fund focused on young entrepreneurs in the developing world. In addition, he is on the Board of Directors for the Business Center for New Americans, a NYC based nonprofit making microloans to immigrants, women, and refugees.
Sheel graduated from Stanford University in three years, at the age of 19. He is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper and was the youngest on the Forbes 30 under 30 list for finance in 2013. He was a We Are Family Foundation Global Teen Leader in 2010.
