Benjamin has been a volunteer and advocate since the age of 13. He authored a proposal for a United Nations Youth Assembly at 18, which evolved into the Global Youth Action Network (GYAN), and served as its executive director until age 29. GYAN connected more than 10,000 organizations in 180 countries, elevating youth voices in global decision-making and facilitating collaboration among youth movements. Benjamin also served as Youth Director of the ONE DAY Foundation, Associate Director for Youth In Action, helped to launch the 2000 National Youth Conventions, Global Youth Service Day, Chat the Planet TV and Three Dot Dash. He has spoken at UN Headquarters, the White House and international conferences worldwide, been featured in several books and documentaries, and published two collections of his photography, poetry and art, a Book of Smiles and Ben & Paper. Currently, Benjamin co-manages Natural Immunogenics, market leader of silver hydrosols pioneered by his father, while serving on the boards of several non-profit organizations.
