CYNTHIA HELLEN

Cynthia Hellen is a Peruvian-American social entrepreneur who is a globally recognized writer-producer-director and design technologist, creating innovative solutions for worldwide problems. 

She is the founder and CEO of New York based design lab SMPLCT, pronounced simplicity, which creates sustainable products, services and experiences for both people and our planet, by improving life and building communities while also protecting the environment. Cynthia is the co-founder of Winning Women Series, a community for women who celebrate the small wins that create change & impact in the world and Oh Hello Liver, a podcast dedicated to the prevention & early detection of liver disease while providing emotional guidance & support to those affected death, loss & grief. 

As a U.S. Department of State Technology Expert, Cynthia travels the globe speaking to local communities about sustainability and innovation. She is an Entrepreneur-In-Residence (EIR) at Trepcamp; the leading global training program that focuses on the development of next generation, high-impact entrepreneurs. Cynthia currently serves as Chapter Leader of ‘New York Women Social Entrepreneurs’ (NYWSE), a non-profit organization creating and promoting young women social entrepreneurs. 

As a regular keynote speaker and conference host, Cynthia runs women’s entrepreneurship workshops for corporations, universities, non-profit organizations and community groups, particularly around the subjects of frugal innovation, social entrepreneurship and sustainability worldwide. 

Her work has been highly sought after and profiled nationally and internationally and she acts as a mentor to students from Harvard, Princeton and Columbia Universities, Columbia Business School, Athena Center for Leadership Studies at Barnard College and Harvard Business School.
