Camila Pereira is the Chief Impact Officer at Lemann Foundation, a family foundation dedicated to making Brazil a more just and developed country. In her position, leading a high-performing team, she oversees the Foundation’s efforts to guarantee a high-quality public education for all children in Brazil and to support leaders who are dedicating their lives to tackle our most pressing challenges.
She has a 13-year trajectory at Lemann Foundation, where she built her career in the social impact sector. In previous positions at the organization, she worked closely with key decision makers in the country and great partners in civil society to foster the development and implementation of effective education policies, such as Brazil’s 1st National Learning Standards (BNCC). She has also led for many years the Foundation’s partnerships with top-tier universities, such as Harvard, Stanford and Columbia, with a focus on training Brazilian leaders and creating meaningful collaborations between Brazil and these institutions.
She currently serves on the Board of several social impact organizations, including B3 Social, Nova Escola, Instituto Gesto, Instituto Reuna, the Lemann Center at Sobral and the Center for Innovation in Brazilian Education (Cieb). And serves as a mentor to young talents in programs like Columbia Women's Leadership Network in Brazil, Global Teen Leaders (We are Family Foundation), and Ensina Brasil (the Brazilian affiliate of Teach for All).
Camila holds a bachelor degree in journalism from PUC-Rio and was a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University, where she studied Reforms in Public Education. Before joining the Foundation, she worked for four years as a reporter and editor, writing about politics and education.
