Neuroscientist Dr. Susanne Cappendijk - Dr. C. - is the CEO and founder of EDsnaps, a NYC based educational NPO that inspires STEAM-learners to become STEAM-leaders. Passionate about science, business leadership, and economic community development, and having experienced the STEAM workforce diversity shortage firsthand, Susanne provides unique STEAM programs to underserved female-identifying learners. Starting with 7 students in 2017, 1000+ students and their families are part of the EDsnapian community.
Susanne is also the co-founder/founder of:
Genivia Inc, a software company, serving a dynamic customer base including the top 15 technology companies, and most of the Fortune 500 companies.
Semper Clarus Consulting, a consulting firm, focused on client-driven quality of life improvement projects, for the life sciences sector and the biopharmaceuticals, med- and healthcare-tech industries.
Dr. Cappendijk is known as a broad, strategic, creative, and visionary thinker. She poses questions in the context of the “big picture” and what the potential impact may be on the entire organization or system, and not just in the context of her own personal situation.
Susanne has 30+ years’ experience in preclinical translational science, business development, and strategic planning, acting in different academic, industrial, and commercial roles. Susanne’s research focused on substance abuse as a recognized medical brain disorder, studying long-term cognitive development, and related behavioral parameters. Dr. Cappendijk authored 50+ abstracts & referenced papers.
Susanne holds a BS in Biology, Utrecht University, a PhD in Pharmacology, Erasmus Medical University, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. She also received an MBA from Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida.
