Project: Inspire For Greatness
Basic Human Needs: Education
Godwin learned the importance of entrepreneurship as an adolescent and quickly grew committed to educating himself on entrepreneurship and finding entrepreneurial mentors. In 2018, Godwin began to lead entrepreneurship seminars and workshops in schools throughout his city of Calabar, Nigeria. He was disappointed by how few students had basic awareness of entrepreneurship and its meaning. He was determined to help teenagers access information and opportunities, represent themselves in Nigeria’s decision-making processes, and take control of their futures. In February 2018 Godwin founded Inspire For Greatness – an organization that identifies, connects and empowers young African leaders and changemakers, while inspiring them to take social action in their communities. Inspire for Greatness has impacted 1,500+ young Africans from 7 countries with mentorships, interactive seminars, workshops and conferences, along with opportunities to develop their talents and build their ideas. Godwin leads a team of Chapter Presidents in South Africa, Tunisia and the United States. In 2021 Godwin anticipates working with additional professionals and experts on all continents, and by 2023, impacting 5,000+ additional young people. Ultimately Godwin hopes to expand Inspire for Greatness into every country on the African continent, building a generation of Africans who are equipped and motivated to solve the world’s most pressing issues. A HumanityUp Ambassador and Harvard Model United Nations delegate, Godwin aspires to carry on this lifelong mission by one day working with the United Nations and national governments across Africa.
