Project: CovidScan.ai
Basic Human Needs: Education, Health, Safety
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Moksh saw the potential stress it would have on healthcare systems around the world. He was determined to help alleviate the battle for frontline workers, especially in developing nations where hospital staff was already overwhelmed. In March 2020 Moksh created CovidScan.ai to help under-resourced clinics provide rapid, accurate COVID-19 testing, keep hospitals secure and educate young innovators to build AI that makes positive impact. With an accuracy rate of 98%, CovidScan.ai is an AI-based software that can provide a diagnosis and explanation in seconds. It also scans patients’ badges for security and the Personal Protective Equipment of medical staff for safety. The software was piloted successfully with 70 patients in the United States, India and Africa, and Moksh plans to implement it in an additional 20 clinics in the next few months. In the summer of 2021 Moksh is expanding CovidScan.ai’s mission to provide AI and technology workshops for aspiring young innovators so they can learn to build and scale projects that improve healthcare. CovidScan.ai won second place at the International Facebook Artificial Intelligence Hackathon, was granted an award from the Facebook Community Challenge and named a Young Explorer Scholar by National Geographic. CovidScan.ai was also recognized by reputable companies and media outlets like Facebook, Dallas Morning News, CBS-11, NBC-LX, and Redis Labs. Moksh is continuing to develop CovidScan.ai to diagnose many more diseases and will continue working to eliminate the health disparities worldwide.
