RACHEL COOPER
Rachel is an Education Specialist at UNICEF’s New York Headquarters, where she will be focusing on Skills in 2020 and previously focused on Education in Emergencies. Prior to joining UNICEF, Rachel worked at the World Bank's Education Global Practice focusing on the areas of gender and education, student assessment, teacher policy, and education public-private-partnerships. She supported operations in fragile and conflict affected areas, sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East and North Africa, East Asia and the Pacific, and South Asia. She also supported a USAID early grade reading project in Afghanistan. Previously, Rachel managed a scholarship program for undergraduate women at the State University of New York to help students pursue careers in global affairs. She holds a Master's degree in International Educational Development from Columbia University and a BA in Political Science from The George Washington University. In her free time, Rachel likes to run (she ran the NY marathon in 2018), bake (very amateurishly), read, plan adventures, and walk her two senior rescue dogs.
