PROGRAMS | PRE-APPLICATIONS
What IS a Pre-Application?
We recently developed and integrated ‘Pre-Applications’ across all We Are Family Foundation (WAFF) programming as a way to simplify the application process for both applicant and reviewer. Additionally, this new step serves as a way to ensure the application process is as equitable and transparent as possible, and that all WAFF program applicants have a solid understanding as to who we seek to work with each year and WHY.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
First thing you should know: WAFF Programs release their Pre-Applications BEFORE their Main Applications. To be accepted, you must complete and submit BOTH.
Applicants must first complete and submit a Pre-Application and once that is approved, they are eligible to submit a Main Application for the program of their choosing.
All applicants will receive notice from WAFF, via email, of their application status. Applicants who are eligible will be invited to submit a Main Application.
Step 1: Select the program you are interested in applying for.
Step 2: Research the program on our website to ensure it sounds like the right fit for you!
Step 3: If you believe you are the right candidate and want to apply, please complete and submit a Pre-Application.
Step 4: Wait patiently. A WAFF team member will review your Pre-Application.
Step 5: Check your email for a message from WAFF, alerting you to the status of your Pre-Application.

If you are eligible…
Step 6: Complete & submit your Main Application before the listed deadline.
Step 7: Await updates from WAFF and continue doing incredible work!!
-
If you are not eligible for whatever reason, you cannot move forward with the Main Application.
WAFF hopes you continue your work to make this planet a better place and consider applying in the future, should your circumstances change!
What DOES a Pre-Application CONSIST OF?
Questions regarding eligibility criteria.
Eligibility criteria varies from program to program but a few common examples of eligibility criteria include but are not limited to:
Age
Sector of work or area of impact
Current status of your work
Applicant’s general availability
If an applicant does not meet THE ELIGIBILITY criteria, CAN THEY STILL APPLY?
No.
