Project: queerbeat

queerbeat is a collaborative journalism project centered on LGBTQIA+ individuals in India. Recognizing the historical underreporting and misrepresentation of queer narratives in mainstream Indian media, the project addresses this gap. Comprising a collective of eight young queer artists, writers and community advocates, queerbeat endeavors to co-author eight distinct storytelling pieces highlighting the lives of queer individuals in India. These works will be published in both English and Hindi, with the intent to spark and steer public discussions concerning the intricate and multifaceted nature of queer experiences within the country.
