I AM BC THEY ARE is a project dedicated to honoring the achievements of overlooked Black women musicians. By uncovering their stories and contributions, the project empowers and celebrates these artists, inspiring present and future generations within the Black community. This initiative maps a journey through archives and oral histories, culminating in a curated playlist showcasing their influence. Additionally, I AM BC THEY ARE includes interviews, a zine and artwork presented in an exhibition, offering a comprehensive tribute to these impactful musicians.
